Acupuncture
and Worker’s Compensation

Were you injured at work? You may be eligible for workers’ compensation, which may cover acupuncture treatments.
All injuries should be reported immediately. Failure to do so could affect your claim.

For the first 90 days, Pennsylvania workers are required to treat with a provider on the employer’s list of designated physicians. After 90 days, you can choose a health care provider, but you must notify your employer.
Acupuncture is covered under Pennsylvania’s Workers’ Compensation if it is deemed medically necessary. However, we cannot determine medical necessity.

We will bill your Workers’ Compensation insurance company for you. However, if your Workers’ Compensation claim is denied for any reason, you are ultimately responsible for the charges.

Don’t Let Your Injury Become Chronic!

Right after an injury, the body is especially sensitive and local treatment can aggravate the injured area by causing more inflammation. Acupuncture is a smart option to reduce pain and discomfort following an injury. It speeds up the natural healing response in a safe and gentle way. It is also great in conjunction with other therapies such as chiropractic and physical therapy. Acupuncture can also help you get results even if you have had limited to no success with other therapies.

After injuries are sustained in a workplace accident, it is best to receive treatment as soon as possible. It will help treat the pain faster and can help prevent injuries from setting in and becoming chronic. That nagging pain in your neck doesn’t have to become a chronic issue.

Don’t Allow Yourself to Suffer After a Workplace Injury!

One of the most common complaints after an injury is pain and tightness. A lot of times, people are unaware of the extent of their injuries because they are masked by pain medications. Even if you are cleared by the ER or your doctor, you may have still suffered soft tissue injuries.

During an injury, your muscles may tighten to protect your body from further injury, causing pain and discomfort. Soft tissue injuries respond very well to acupuncture. We can use other modalities such as cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion in conjunction with acupuncture to help heal your injuries. We can also use electro acupuncture to help improve or restore proper blood circulation to maximize your healing potential.
